Escalation Film Screening - Newburgh Free Library
The Escalation Workshop is a film-based discussion that opens people’s eyes to the warning signs of relationship abuse. The workshop consists of a film, Escalation, followed by a guided discussion led by a trained facilitator. The film follows a college-aged couple through the very sweet beginnings of their relationship and shows how unhealthy behaviors can escalate into abuse.
Escalation, a project of the One Love Foundation, has been hailed as a game-changer in personalizing the issue of relationship violence and its risk. Students consistently report the subtle signs of a violent relationship as ones that are “deeply recognizable,” but also the ones they never would expect to escalate. Individuals leave the workshop asking what they can do to help their friends and their communities. They want to know how they can help work for change.
Interactive training for community members, youth service providers, educators, administrators, and law enforcement.
Open to the public and FREE for all. Advanced registration is required. Register to secure your spot at the Newburgh Free Library!
